{Sweet Details}: Photo Props II

Here I go again about the sweet little detail of photo props. Using props in a photo session is a purely genius idea especially for those who tend to be camera shy. Whether it be engagement photos, wedding portraits, holiday card photos, or even headshots, props are a great way to loosen up, have fun, and flash a REAL winning smile.

I know I always feel extremely awkward taking photos, and this is something that has helped me tremendously. I’ve gone this route in my Christmas cards for the past two years, and I would absolutely love to have a fun head shot done in this manner (don’t you just love this one of Amy Poehler)! Throw some confetti in the air, hold up a special message out of Scrabble letters, use a fun disguise, hold a delicious looking cupcake, but most of all, be yourself.

I’m not necessarily encouraging you to hide your face behind balloons, but allow your fun personality shine through. Not all of us are lucky enough to be incredibly photogenic, perhaps a few of these fun ideas will help put you at ease and leave you with not only stunning pictures, but pictures that truly represent you!
